City of Portsmouth to launch program to help residents pay for prescription medications

Starting on August 30, 2011, the City of Portsmouth will launch a program to give residents relief from the high cost of prescription medications. Portsmouth residents will be able to obtain prescription discount cards at no cost. The cards can be used at most pharmacies in Portsmouth, as well as at over 60,000 pharmacies across the country.

Portsmouth residents can print the card at www.caremark.com/nlc. For people without Internet access, the card is available at the City Hall Information Center (located at 801 Crawford Street), all Portsmouth public libraries, and several other locations. To view the complete list of places where you can obtain a prescription discount card, you can visit http://wavy.m0bl.net/w/localnews/story/36355783/. To find the nearest participating pharmacy, you can visit www.caremark.com/nlc or call 1.888.620.1749.
